9月15日上午，常州大学用一场隆重的开学典礼，欢迎来自全国各地的4000余名新生入学。新老交替、迎来送往间，学校所提倡的大学生创新创业教育，已被很多师生、用人单位称赞认可。

 

长期以来，大学生管理和思想政治教育较多采用灌输式，而在今天，强迫命令反会挫伤和压抑受教育者的主动性和积极性。因此，“学生思想走向哪里，我们的工作就跟进到哪里”的“跟进式教育”，越来越成为当前大学生教育的一种有效方法和途径。常州大学校长浦玉忠称，近年来，常州大学以大学生创新创业教育为抓手，正把学生的兴趣点转化为学校教学活动的切入点，让人才培养与社会需求相契合。

 

营造创新氛围 创新无处不在

 

创新教育，没有固定的套路，讲究的是一种氛围。在常州大学党委书记史国栋看来，要培养学生的创新精神，首先要让创新“触手可及”。常州大学定时举办和组织的奇思妙想比赛、无动力小船比赛、创新思维大赛等寓教于乐的小活动，让学生激发了创新的乐趣，更在全校营造了浓厚的创新氛围。据统计，仅去年一年，常州大学便举办各级各类科技学术竞赛活动103项，参与人数达12000余人次。

 

“上世纪90年代，常州大学便开始了科技创新的步伐。2010年开始，我们将学生科技创新基金从每年3万元提高至30万元，二级学院还会配以相应的资金补助，给学生打了一针‘强心剂’。”而在平时的教学中，学校也鼓励学生的“逆反”精神和“好奇”心理，注重培养怀疑和批判意识。常州大学教务处处长徐守坤介绍，除开设《创造学》等选修课程、专家讲座外，学校还创设了“五元”创新人才培养模式，通过“提出问题、解决问题的思路、解决问题的过程、体验成功、建立自信与新目标”，不断提升学生的认知、理解、判断和行为能力。

 

创造创新条件 名师打造高徒

 

近两年来，常州大学投入9000余万元，共引进100多位博士、30多位海归人才，为学生科研设置了由专业教师和辅导员组成的“双导师”制，开设了“导师导学”工作室，邀请各学科带头人“坐诊”，学生只要有问题便可前去咨询。此外，学校还建起了3D仿真实训中心，学生进入教室就仿佛置身车间，从行走路线，到阀门开闭、用对讲机与班长沟通，再到紧急状况处理，实训系统一应俱全。

 

浦玉忠介绍称，常州大学还建立了大学生科技与艺术创新中心、大学生创新实验室等载体，其中包含智能车、智能机器人等项目以及陶瓷制作车间，让科技创新与艺术创新实现有机融合。常大学子先后获得了全国大学生化工设计竞赛一等奖、全国石油工程设计大赛一等奖、全国大学生“飞思卡尔”杯智能汽车竞赛二等奖等。

 

建立传承机制 创新成果有效转化

 

“学校不能就创新而创新，还要注重将学生的创意成果转化为社会产品、现实生产力。”史国栋认为，创业不仅能够实现创新的价值，其所需的沟通、协作、处理能力等，更是学生未来的核心竞争力。为此，常州大学投入100多万元建立了“常青藤”大学生创业社区，为大学生提供资金、场地等资源，构建形成了以“创业社团+创业项目+创业学生”的大学生创业传承机制，让大学生创业项目不仅能办起来，还能办得好。

 

史国栋介绍，为了让更多学生参与创业，学校开设了9门创业课程和10余门公共选修课，每年有3500人次接受学校的GYB、SYB创业课程培训。“如今，学校已经投入500多万元成立了创新创业学院，形成了以‘创新创业学院—创新创业伙伴项目计划—创业孵化基地—创业教育研究中心’为主线的创新创业教育实践体系及平台。”

 

目前 ，常州大学共有50多个学生创业项目。2012年5月，常州大学学生肖欣悦创办的常州逸凡动画工作室入驻常州创意产业基地，成为常州高校最早入住该基地的大学生创业项目。

Changzhou University Advocates Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education 

 

On September 15, Changzhou University greeted more than 4,000 freshmen from all over the country with a grand opening ceremony. Over years, the innovations made by the university have been greatly welcomed by teachers and students.

For a long time, cramming was widely applied in the education of management as well as ideology and politics. Today, many experts believe that too much compulsion and command will discourage and depress the initiative and enthusiasm of those learners. 

According to Pu Yuzhong, president of Changzhou University, the university is starting to take innovations and entrepreneurship education, and put students’ interests on top of the school teaching curriculum to ensure that the talent training can meet the needs of society.

 

Create innovation-friendly atmosphere: Innovation is everywhere

The innovative education emphasizes on an atmosphere and there is no fixed pattern to follow. According to Shi Guodong, CPC party secretary of Changzhou University, to cultivate students’ innovative spirit, the first thing is to make innovation “within reach”. 

Changzhou University regularly holds and organizes a series of interesting and educational activities like Brainstorm, Unpowered Boat Competition and Creative Thinking Contest, which inspired the students and helped create a great innovation-friendly atmosphere in the campus. Statistics show that last year Changzhou University held 103 scientific and academic competitions with over 12,000 participants. 

 “In the 1990s, Changzhou University began the scientific and technological innovation. Since 2010, we have increased the science and technology innovation fund for students from RMB 30,000 per year to RMB 300,000 per year with subsidies provided by the secondary colleges, which is a strong impetus to the students. ” The university also encourages innovative spirits and inquisitive minds, focusing on the cultivation of students’ skeptical and critical awareness. According to Xu Shoukun, academic director of Changzhou University, apart from setting up elective courses and expert lectures for the study of creativity, the school also establishes a training mode in “Five Aspects”—raises questions, figure out ways to solve problems, go through process of problem-solving, experience success and set up confidents and new goals, to constantly enhance students’ ability in cognition, comprehension, judgment and behaviors. 

 

Create innovative conditions: the best way to learn is to learn from the best

For the past two years, Changzhou University has invested more than 90 million yuan, attracted over 100 doctors and 30 overseas talents, set up “double tutor” system composed of professional teacher and counselor in guidance of students’ scientific researches, and opened a studio where academic leaders from every field are gathered to give instructions to students whenever they have problems to consult. In addition, the school also set up a 3D simulation training center. For students, the classroom now seems like a workshop. From walking routes to the opening and closing of valves or from communication with the monitor with interphone to treatment of emergency, all are readily available.

     In order to integrate technological innovation with artistic innovation, Changzhou University has established College Student Technology and Art Innovation Center and College Student Innovation Lab for projects like smart cars and intelligent robots, and set up a ceramics workshop. Students from the university successively won the first prize in the National College Student Chemical Engineering Design Competition, the National Petroleum Engineering Design Competition and second prize in the National Undergraduate Students “Freescale Cup” Intelligent Car Competition, etc, Pu Yuzhong said.

 

Establish inheritance mechanism: effective transformation of innovative achievements

“What we have done aims more than innovation.  It is more about transforming student’s creative achievements into social products or practical productive forces,” said Shi Guodong, who added that entrepreneurship can realize the value of innovation, but the abilities of communication, collaboration and problem solving it requires are the core competitiveness for the students in the future. 

Changzhou University spent 100 million yuan to establish "Ivy League" entrepreneurial community which provides funds, venues and other resources for college students, forming an innovative undertaking mechanism of “entrepreneurial associations combined with entrepreneurial project and entrepreneurial student ” to lead the students into a bright future.

    According to Shi Guodong, to encourage more students to get involved, the school opened 9 entrepreneurship courses and more than 10 public elective courses with 3,500 students receiving entrepreneur training like GYB and SYB each year. “Now, our school has invested more than 5 million yuan to set up innovation and entrepreneurship institute and form an educational practice system and platform centered on ‘innovation and entrepreneurship institute--innovation and entrepreneurship partner program—business incubators—entrepreneurship education and research center’ ”

At present, there are more than 50 entrepreneurship projects for students in Changzhou University. In May 2012, Changzhou Yifan animation studio founded by Xiao Xinyue, a student of the university, was established in Changzhou creative industry base. It has become the first students’ entrepreneurial project settled in the base among the colleges and universities of Changzhou. （Xu Yan）
